Goals from Nick Barmby and Dean Windass gave Hull City victory at Watford in the first leg of the Championship Play-Off semi-final.

Watford had an early goal disallowed by Dan Shittu after an infringement in the build-up and the match at Vicarage Road was soon settled by strikes from the experienced Tigers' duo inside the opening 25 minutes.

In the 61st minute the Hornets' misery was further compounded when skipper John Eustace was sent-off and he will now miss the second leg on Wednesday 14th May.
