The Football League Awards

Procter & Gamble brand, Wash & Go shampoo, is continuing its ascent within the football arena with the presence of its 'Good Sport' award in the second annual Football League Awards incorporating FourFourTwo's Top 50 Football League Players.

The award, an innovative campaign designed to support the brand's 'Sport' sku, commends fair play and sportsmanship in football, in line with The Football League Chairman, Lord Mawhinney's, advocacy of good 'on field' behaviour.

Chairman of The Football League, Lord Mawhinney commented: "We are delighted to have the Wash & Go 'Good Sport' Award on board for this year's event. The award is designed to reward fair play on the field, and promote good sportsmanship amongst the players within The Football League."

And this year, the brand has asked National List referees to help judge the category which will be presented to a player from The Football League at the ceremony on March 4th at Grosvenor House, London.

The Sport variant supports existing activity on the Wash & Go brand, which is going from strength to strength. Its Universal variant is the fastest growing haircare sku in P&G's portfolio.

"Wash & Go continues to outperform expectations and plays a key part in the Procter & Gamble portfolio. We are always looking at ways to diversify the range and Wash & Go Sport is a great new offering for our target market.

"The Football League Awards are an ideal platform for us to deliver the initiative and to help us generate excitement around Wash & Go Sport. The initiative is fun, innovative and an ideal medium for us to connect with our core audience"
continued Austin.

The Wash & Go range is available in 200ml and 300ml bottles, including Universal, Anti-Dandruff and Fresh variants as well as Rich - an intensive conditioner designed to help tame difficult hair in one fast acting formula.

The Wash & Go Sport formula, containing natural herbal extracts including green tea, lemongrass and mint, ensures great hair, no fuss.

The brand continue to work extensively within football across all levels, and are engaging with football fans across the UK with their monthly 'Good Sport' feature on ITV's football magazine show, Soccer Night.
